Eudora Client Setup

From the Eudora menu bar, select Tools, Options.

Under "Getting Started" enter your nameand then your full email address for both Return address and Login Name.

Your incoming Mail Server is fspop.vccs.edu, and your outgoing SMTP Server is fssmtp.vccs.edu.

Check the "Allow Authentication" box.

Then move to "Checking Mail" and set your options as they appear below.

Move to "Incoming Mail".

If you plan to use only your Eudora client and not Mirapoint Webmail, you do not need to change anything on this tab at all, and may proceed to "Sending Mail".

Some users like to use Eudora at work and Mirapoint Webmail at home, or they wish to set up separate Eudora clients at more than one location, such as one in the office and one at home.

If you plan to do either of these, and would like to keep your incoming messages available via web or alternate client access for a period of time after they are downloaded to your Eudora client, you need to check "Leave mail on server".

You also need to specify a number of days to retain the messages. We suggest that you select "Delete from server after" and specify 3 days. (Note that leaving messages on the server will cause your mailbox to fill up sooner if you have a lot of mail traffic or numerous large attachments coming to your account.)

Proceed to "Sending Mail".

Enter your full email address as Return address.

Select OK to finish.
