Q. What is my email address? A. Go to https://my.vccs.edu and select "Look up your username". Q. How do I change my password? A. Log in to https://my.vccs.edu and use the Change Password function. This will update your password in SIS, Blackboard, and Email. Q. I forgot my password, what do I do? A. Go to https://my.vccs.edu and select "Forgot your password?". Q. My password doesn’t work at the email login page or My VCCS. Why? A. Users who have not logged in for several months may find that their password has expired. These users will need to create a secure password at https://my.vccs.edu/jsp/userconfig.jsp?action=reset

Why can’t I login without being redirected to My.VCCS?
A. All numeric passwords are only used as initial passwords for new users, and when a user’s password is reset by college help desk personnel. Users with all numeric passwords are required to change them at their first login to My VCCS . https://my.vccs.edu Q. Why won't my Outlook client connect to the new system? A. Access to the new VCCS student email system is by web browser only. We recommend that you use the latest version of Internet Explorer. Q. What browsers can I use? A. Mirapoint supports: Netscape v. 7.1 and up (Windows) AOL's browser is not supported. There are known compatibility issues with the AOL browser and several of our VCCS applications. If your ISP is AOL, connect as usual, then minimize (do not close) the AOL browser and start up Internet Explorer. Do all your VCCS work from the IE browser. Q. What operating systems are supported? A. Three operating systems are supported. MS Windows XP (with most recent service pack) Q. How big is my mailbox? A. 40 megabytes. Q. What is the maximum message size? A. 15 megabytes. Q. How long is my email kept on the system? A. Email is automatically deleted after 120 days unless you delete it yourself prior to that. Q. How long is my mailbox kept active on the system? A. Your mailbox remains active for one semester after your last semester of enrollment unless you have an incomplete or blank grade. Students with incomplete or blank grades will be deleted after two semesters of non-enrollment . When your mailbox is deleted, your email address is reserved for you in case you should re-enroll in the future. Q. I need to send a really big attachment and the system says the message is too large. What do I do? A. Go to either www.yousendit.com or www.dropload.com and you can use these free facilities to send really big files. Q. Is it possible to have my email automatically forwarded to my private email address?A. Yes, forwarding can be configured in the new email system by going to Options, Forwarding. Users should be aware that forwarding is inherently unreliable do to the stringent filtering done by many ISPs to remove Spam. It is recommended that users who choose to have their email forwarded also check the box “Keep a copy of each forwarded message” and check their VCCS mail regularly via the web interface. |
