To provide additional security all licensed software must be zipped as an
executable and require a password to unzip or a key code to install.
Client Services will maintain passwords and key codes.

If you need software distributed and you are not located
in ITS, contact Client Services.
FTP Upload Guidelines for putting software on the VCCS FTP site for
distribution to end users and colleges:
- File
should be zipped using WinZip, PKZip or similar product. Products for all
platforms can be found at ASi
Product Line.
- Use
"Recurse folders" mode to recreate directories.
- File
should be created as self-extracting executable.
- File
must be password protected or require a key code to install. E-mail the
password to Client Services which will maintain a list that will be
available to the college CSL's.
- File
should include a text disclaimer as follows "This software is licensed
to the VCCS. Either a password will be required to unzip it or a key code
will be required to install it. Please contact your Customer Support Liaison
at your college to obtain a password
or keycode."
- Upload
Method: ftp Explorer, WS_FTP, and Fetch for Macintosh users.
- Once
the software is uploaded you can create a hyperlink directly to the file
from your support page for that product instead of pointing to the FTP site
home. e.g. Sample
