Setting up Outlook Client

 

With Outlook closed, open Control Panel and select “Mail”

 Select “E-mail Accounts” 

 Select “Add a new e-mail account” 

 Choose “Microsoft Exchange Server” 

 Enter “utexch01.vccs.edu” for the Microsoft Exchange Server

Enter your account name (usually FI, last name)

Then click on “Check Name” 

 It should prompt you for your password.  

 Enter your password

Check “Remember my password”

Click “OK”

If you receive an error message similar to “The name could not be resolved” see troubleshooting section at the end of this document.

If successful your full name should now be underlined in the user name box


Click on “More Settings” 

 Go to the Security tab and select “Encrypt data between Microsoft….”

Then click on “OK”

Click on “Next” 

 A pop-up will be displayed.

Select “Yes” 

 Select “Finish” 

 Select “Email Accounts” again 

 Under “Deliver new e-mail to the following location: select “Mailbox-username”

Then click “Finish” 

 Open Outlook

Select “Calendar” Tab in left-hand pane

Uncheck “Calendar”

Check “Calendar in Mailbox”
