The most recent version of the Crystal Reports Installation instructions have been saved to the \\164.106.10.83\crystal folder.  Brendan and I worked to make some permissions changes to the Crystal share and subsequent folders.  Here is a summary of the existing structure and permissions:

 

- College developers and ITS should map to \\164.106.10.83\crystal.  Members of all college xxCSL groups will have access to this folder.  From here, xxCSL group members can access the colleges and sa8_crw folders.  They will have write access to their college folder under each of these folders and will have read access to all other college folders.  The colleges folder should be used for storing common Crystal reports developed by the colleges and run by end users.  The sa8_crw folder should be used for storing Crystal reports that are in the development process and are being migrated to the different database instances by ITS. 

 

- End users running Crystal Reports should map to \\164.106.10.83\colleges after the Crystal Reports 8.0 install.  All authenticated users will have read only access to the folders in this share.  Again, these folders are used for storing common Crystal reports developed by the colleges and run by end users.

 

Once we have nailed down the end-user installation instructions, I will break the instructions into two documents, one for developers and one for end users.
