Process Scheduler Servers: PSUNXPM, PSUNX, & PSNT

VCCS ITS has created an additional Process Scheduler Server on the UNIX box in all database instances This server, named PSUNXPM, is to be used to execute processes that should be scheduled to run during non-peak hours. A list of these processes is below.  Currently, the server is on the same schedule as the PSUNX server, i.e., running 24/7 except for maintenance window. Eventually, this server will be scheduled to be available from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am Monday through Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday.

The processes that will be set to run on the PSUNXPM server are:

SFPCLCAN – Enrollment Cancellation Process
SFPBCALC – Batch Tuition Calculation Process
SFPGRPST – Student Financials Group Posting Process
SFTBLVAL – Table Validation Report
VXUTRMAC (SRTRMAC) – Term Activation Process (Delivered)
VX0TRMAC – Term Activation Process (VCCS Customized)

All other processes, except Crystal Reports will be set to run on the PSUNX server.  Crystal Reports will run on the PSNT server.

The records in the Process Definition table have been updated to reflect this change.  By doing this, the user will no longer be required to choose the correct server when scheduling a process, as the appropriate server has been automatically assigned to the process.

A separate announcement will be made when the PSUNXPM server goes into “night only” mode.
