Version 8 Upgrade Training: Update

PeopleSoft On-site Classes
PeopleSoft on-site classes are underway, starting this week with a PeopleTools I/II accelerated session. Two sessions of this class, as well as PeopleCode/SQR, Crystal/Query for SA, and 3C's/Mass Change are scheduled for February. We will be offering a third session of each in March, and are working out the schedule with Oracle-PeopleSoft, so stay tuned for those dates.

Business Process Workshops
While planning to offer Business Process Workshops in late February, many colleges expressed a desire that these be held later in March, so as not to interfere with ongoing Version 8 preparation activities. We would like to know if there is concurrence on scheduling these sessions. Please send your preferred dates to Jeff Mitchell (jmitchell@vccs.edu) by Friday, February 4. Also, if a member of your staff would like to serve as a volunteer instructor, this would be an excellent chance to work one-on-one with an external consultant module expert. We are looking for volunteer instructors for AA/AR, FA, SF, and SR. If you have a nomination, please send their name and contact information along as well.

UPK Documentation
Last week, college volunteers and VCCS ITS staff completed the UPK Faculty & Student documentation workshop, which ran from January 10 - January 28. While we still have a bit of editing and clean-up to accomplish, VCCS ITS will post the initial iteration of documentation for college use on Monday, February 7. This will include documentation of all Faculty & Student Self-Service module activities, along with some general navigation topics. We will be expanding the topics soon, and hope to include documentation of running processes, queries, and several other technical items in advance of Staff module documentation.

VCCS functional module workgroups are continuing to work on documentation of consolidated business processes for staff, and those will be released as available, although most will be completed post go-live.

Watch for more UPK information next Monday.

College Training Plans & Surveys
SIS Deployment Chairs, college training surveys were due today. If you have not yet sent yours, please send it immediately. In addition, we would like to retain a copy of your college training plan with our project documents. Please send your college training survey and plans to Jeff Mitchell (jmitchell@vccs.edu) no later than Friday, February 4.
