Student Financials Table Validation
It is important that data be as clean as possible in our current Student Admin version 7.6 production database. This is critical as we are currently moving data from production into the PeopleSoft Student Admin version 8 database.
The Student Financials Table Validation, a sqr process provided by PeopleSoft, is a powerful tool that enables colleges to report on and correct referential integrity errors within Student Financials tables. These errors can occur as a result of setup errors, changes to setup after data is partially processed, or modified programs that insert or update data into the PeopleSoft Student Financials tables.
If your college has not run Student Financials Table Validation (SFTBLVAL) recently, please do so as soon as possible. We recommend that colleges run the process at least weekly, or even more frequently during registration. It should only be run at night, not during the day when other critical processes are running. As we get closer to the ‘Go Live’ date for PeopleSoft SA version 8, we will recommend that colleges run Table Validation daily.
In addition, it is important that colleges take the appropriate steps to resolve any data errors that appear on the Table Validation report when it’s run in Update Mode. These errors could not be fixed systematically by the Table Validation process. Please refer to the attached document for instructions and tips on running the process. If you need further assistance, please open an Issue Trak ticket.
Over the next few months, as ASC continues to take data extracts from production and move this data into the version 8 database, we appreciate your efforts to reduce and eliminate errors on the Table Validation reports. This will not only help to ensure that the upgrade process moves as quickly as possible, but will also help to reduce the number of issues colleges currently experience due to data problems with these tables.
